The only way to travel - St Lucia Open Air Truck

During our 2013 cruise, our stop at St Lucia was one of the favorites.  On the way to and from the rainforest for zip lining, we got to ride in an open air truck.  It was quite an experience!  We would stand up and just enjoy the view!

I made a double layout for these pictures.

For the first half of the layout, I played along with The scrappy Friends. I completed all three of their challenges so I could get 4 entries in their drawing!

First, I used the sketch from Brenda at Grand Diva's Creative Corner. My photos were landscape so I rotated the sketch.

I also used Kelly's mood board at Creating with Paper & More. I was inspired by the colors and the saying ( I actually used the saying)
Finally, I used Rochelle's This or That Challenge. I used a flair.

For the second half of the layout, I used a sketch challenge from Stuck?! Sketches
I rotated it so I could use it with my landscape photos.

Cheers to St Lucia

On our cruise, one of the ports of call was St Lucia.  We had a great time in the St Lucia Rainforest. You can look back at some of my other layouts to see all that we did.  After a long day, my dh and I did a little relaxing as the ship left port.  The relaxing including some fun drinks!

For this layout I used a sketch from Printable Cuttable Creatables. They a nice collection of sketches to get inspired by.

I was able to incorporate 2 of the scrappy friends challenges.

Kelly, at Creating with Paper and More has a wonderful April Mood Board. I used the colors and the pretty drink as my inspiration.

Also, Rochelle's This OR That Challenge is always fun.  I used a journal card!

St Kitts - Island Tour

This is a page of misc. pictures from our island tour of St Kitts.  I took soooo many pictures on that tour!

I used the layout from Stick It Down's April Double Layout Challenge.  The layout worked great with my pictures:

I also loved the color challenge at Scrap Much?: I used five of the colors: midnight sky, paradise pink, laughing orange, baby blue, and lemon lime.

I was also able to use tons of scrap paper for the Use your scraps challenge at Use Your Stuff!  Remember serendipity squares from years ago?  I used to be queen of serendipity squares.  I pulled out my xyron 900 machine and got to work!  That was fun!

Sapphire Beach - St Thomas

The first stop on our cruise was St Thomas.  As I mentioned in a previous post, we caught a taxi to Sapphire Beach to spend the day.  It was a great beach; Crowds were nonexistent!

ScrapMuch? has a great Sketch-y Friday Challenge going on.  The layout was perfect for all my landscape pictures.

St Kitts - Caribelle Batik

On the St Kitts tour, we stopped by Caribelle Batik.  This is a store / workshop for handmade batik fabric and goods. The quaint building is in the middle of beautiful landscaping.  They have batik demonstrations that show how the fabric is made.  A fun stop.  We took home a big fabric piece that we hung on the wall - you can see it in the layout - the sunset one.

My layout was inspired by Grand Diva's Sketch Challenge

St Kitts - Black Rocks

Loved the Black Rocks at St Kitts.  The contrast between the black rocks and the turquoise water was so beautiful!

I used the challenge at Stuck?! Sketches for the layout, but I rotated it so I could use my landscape pics!

Use your Stuff has a challenge to use Lace, Ribbon, or Twine (Challenge #210).  I used some Embroidery Floss on my tag.

St Kitts - Buildings full of history

On our tour of St Kitts, we saw so much history - at least buildings that were full of history.  This page shows some of the buildings we saw.  Two beautiful churches and one of the many sugar mill ruins around the island.

I used some kiwi lane templates to create some interest.

The layout was inspired by a Sketches in Thyme challenge layout (#189):

I couldn't bare to crop my pics down to 4x4 so I left them as they were:)

I also loved the challenge at Use Your Stuff.  The challenge was to use flowers!  I used my silhouette Cameo to create some layered flowers.

Finally, I found a color challenge at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge.  I had to use the color green in my layout.
